GAMLIN HIKE
Sun., Nov. 3, 1 p.m., join members of Groton Trails Committee on guided hike through woods of Gamlin Crystal Springs conservation area, Groton, owned by Groton Conservation Trust.
This is a beautiful parcel featuring dense woods, rocky outcrops, beaver ponds, huge boulders, and an old "lost" quarry. Hike will take about 1 1/2 hours and is suitable for families with children. Dogs must be under owner's control or leashed if requested. Wear comfortable hiking shoes as there are some short rocky sections. Hike held unless very stormy.
Meet at trail head on Old Dunstable Rd. Take Lowell Rd. (Rt. 40) to Old Dunstable Rd. Proceed north on Old Dunstable Rd., passing intersection with Bridge St. after 1.25 miles, then continuing for another 0.25 miles on Old Dunstable Rd. Trail head and parking are on left, just past sign for Gamlin Conservation Area.
