Homecoming 2014!
October is American Cancer Society's Breast Cancer Awareness Month and, as we have witnessed at many sporting events, amateur and professional, athletes have worn pink to emphasize their support.
This past month, students at Groton-Dunstable have been involved in the Cancer Society's Breast Cancer Awareness Month High School Challenge. Fundraising competition between classes began with students proudly displaying pink attire. GD has been participating in the ACS's Breast Cancer Awareness Month High School Challenge for the past several years.
To further clarify their involvement, G-D athletic teams have been wearing their pink during games this month.
The culmination of the week is Homecoming Weekend 10/24 and 10/25 with a huge pep rally on Friday afternoon, tailgating competition during early evening and the big Friday night football game against Westborough. The Student Council helped plan the week-long events that helped raise money which is being donated to the American Cancer Society.
