Junior Kasey Pelletier of Dunstable scored a game-high 14 points to help the Nichols College women's basketball team earn their second Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) win of the season, a 58-47 triumph over Gordon College Saturday afternoon at the Nichols Athletic Center. Pelletier went 9 for 12 from the line and also hit a three. The Bison are 5-10 overall.

Shannon Van Riper wrapped up her collegiate soccer career for St. Bonaventure women's soccer team. The red shirt senior defender played in all 20 games and was second in team scoring with 5 goals (10 points). 5th-seeded Bonnies lost to 4th-seeded Butler in the Atlantic 10 Championship Quarterfinal Round 1-0. After allowing the late tally to Bulldogs, Bonaventure's best chance to score came with just 30 seconds remaining when Van Riper's final career shot rattled off the crossbar. The team has been recognized for collective academic excellence by National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) with Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 academic year by achieving a team grade point average of 3.40. A psychology major, Shannon was a four year starter at mid-field for Groton-Dunstable Regional. She is the daughter of Thurman and Carolyn Van Riper.
